PROMOTIONS ASSISTANT JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
The Osceola Area Chamber is looking for a qualified individual to assist in promotional activities.
This is a part time position, averaging 5-10 hours a week that will require a flexible and open work schedule. Able to do most work from home. The Osceola Area Chamber and Main Street organization is a growing and dynamic nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the Osceola community, business membership and Main Street Program. The Promotions Assistant position requires creativity, graphic, communication, marketing and organizational skills. The person needs to be a self-starter, resourceful, and have an eye for detail. OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Promotions Assistant will assist the Director in promoting the Chamber, Osceola, downtown and special events.
REPORTS TO: The Chamber & MainStreet Executive Director
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists with creating marketing materials in multi-media. Works with volunteers committees and businesses active in these areas.
Assists with defining the marketable image of the Chamber and downtown, Ensures continuity of that image in all promotional programs.
Assists with promoting Osceola as a destination by updating Osceola tourism attractions on line, with social media and publications including photos and descriptions.
Assists with storytelling and editing of publications printed, on line and distributed by the Chamber.
Assists with retention and recruitment of both members and volunteers.
Attends Retail Committee meetings, Board Meetings and Event Planning Meetings as needed.
Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating promotional events including but not limited to:
Celebrate Osceola
Ladies Spring Fling
Osceola Community Bazaar
Doe on the Go
Light Up Osceola
Assists with promoting the Valley Cash Program
Assists in creating the Chamber newsletter and Hometown Happenings
Other tasks as needed.
Participates in on-going education as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND
Creative, self-starter, organized, responsible, accountable, self-sufficient, resourceful, and has an eye for detail
Works well with others in a team environment
Good organizational skills
Good communication skills including written and verbal
Positive attitude
Willingness to learn new skills
Experience in promotions, retailing, marketing, advertising, destination marketing, or related field is highly desirable
Experience in social media marketing, creative writing, website design, graphic design and editing is highly desirable
