Osceola Area Photo Contest
What we’re looking for:
A photo suitable for the cover of the 2020 Osceola Activities Guide & Membership Directory (The Guide will measure approximately 8.5” across by 11” tall and will print on 80# No. 3 Glossy paper.

Some ideas about different types of photos to get you started:
- Osceola Life: Photos representing Osceoleans and/or our way of life, traditions, culture, or authentic “only in Osceola” moments.
- Scenic: Photos emphasizing the landscape and scenery of Osceola with or without the human element.
- Adventure: Photos depicting an active pursuit in Osceola: hiking, biking, bird watching, boating, running, fishing, hunting, shopping etc.
Photographs must have been taken by the entrant in the calendar years of 2018, 2019 or 2020.
Images must be formatted to a minimum of 1800 pixels by 1200 pixels at 300 dpi (JPG format).
Photographs which have been obviously altered with digital enhancements or composite imaging will not be accepted. Minor adjustments, including spotting, dodging and burning, sharpening, contrast and slight color adjustment or the digital equivalents are acceptable. If the judges determine that a photographer has altered his or her photo, they reserve the right to disqualify it.
For a photo in which a person is recognizable, you must secure a model release from the subject or, in the case of a minor, the subject’s parent or guardian and provide it to the Osceola Chamber upon request. Photos that violate or infringe upon another person’s rights, including but not limited to copyright, are not eligible.

Judging of the annual contest will be conducted by staff and board members of the Osceola Chamber. Winning photographs and selected finalists will be published in the 2020 Osceola Chamber Activity Guide, and subsequently on www.myosceolachamber.org or social media. We reserve the right to change the date of publication of the winners’ images in the print edition and online. Decisions of the judges will be final.
A grand-prize winner and second and third place winners will be selected, as well as honorable mentions. The grand-prize winning photo will appear on the cover of the Guide, and the winner will be given a ¼-page space in the Guide at no charge, to be used for their biography and/or to advertise their business or organization.
Winners will be notified of their status and will appear on the Chamber’s website on or about March 8, 2019. The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. The Osceola Chamber reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. Decisions of the Chamber judges will be final.
